Installations
Obernkarbi is working with installations, primarily where sound is the bearing medium and sculptural element in a context dependent and site-specific spatial setup. My point of departure is often a specific setting, given task, social or cultural challenge and the like.
In my work I enjoy to appropriate and distort existing structures, symbols etc.
I often incorporate elements such as civic participation or user driven elements and interaction.
Also, I enjoy company and cooperation from a wide network of fellow artists and technicians, as well as urban developers, cultural entrepreneurs and the like.
